Peter and Joyce Cottrell (pictured here with BTA President Pat Hayes and Mary Hayes at a lunch in their honor 8/10/09) Congratulations! The Cottrell's completed their 11 week thru-hike of the 1400 mile Buckeye Trail on August 9 in Richmond Dale, OH near Chillicothe. They came through Milford in May 2009. A unique aspect of the circular Buckeye Trail is that they were able to drive in from New Hampshire and park their car, take a long walk, and arrive back at their car. That is not a typical convenience of a long distance hike. The Cottrell's were the first couple to complete a hike of the American Discovery Trail a few years ago and were celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Buckeye Trail with this hike.American Discovery Trail Below is an updated link to all of the individuals currently on the Hellfighter's 2009 ADT hike Underground Railroad Cycling Route Mike Derr is riding the Underground Railroad Route
